The State Executive Board
Sarah is a Senior at Stewart’s Creek High School and plans to Major in Musical Theatre next year. This summer she spent over a month in New York studying with Open Jar Institute and NYCDA. Her most recent roles were Velma Kelly in her school’s production of Chicago, and Judy in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, the recipient of TTA’s State One Act Festival’s 1st place in 2018. She also enjoys making music, traveling, art, and everyday adventures. She plans on making ThesCon 2020 an adventure everyone will love!
Maranda, a senior at Bartlett High School, is beyond thankful and thrilled to be on the State Executive Board. She has been in love with theatre since elementary school. Her favorite roles include Lenya in Fools, Mrs. Gloop in Willy Wonka, and Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan. She is on the speech and debate team at her school and has competed in duo interp, group interp, solo acting, and TV broadcasting. She also loves being on tech crew to make costumes and run spotlight. Outside of theatre she is a proud member of the Bartlett Honors Academy and she is in the top 10% of her class. After high school she plans on going to college to get her degree in Theatre Education. Being on the executive board is a dream come true for her. She wants to thank everyone who supports her! Her goal is to make ThesCon 2020 the best one yet. Stay kind, but be relentless!
Georgia is a Senior at Independence High School and is excited to serve as President of the Executive Board this year. She loves performing and working backstage. Her most recent production was “Bring It On: The Musical” where she played Bridget and won Outstanding Comedic Actress at the Spotlight Awards-Nashville High School Musical Theatre Awards in May. In her free time she loves going to concerts, hanging out with her friends, and fangirling over her idols. She hopes to pursue theatre in college and wants to do this for the rest of her life.
Jacob, an upcoming senior at South Gibson County High School, has been participating in theater since he was 6 years old. Jacob has participated in shows throughout West Tennessee with his school, The Nite Lite Theater, and the Jackson Theater guild. Some of his favorite shows he’s been apart include: Hello Dolly (Ensemble) , The Addams Family (Gomez), Mamma Mia (Ensemble) , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Charlie), and Footloose (Jeter) . Jacob recently performed in the opening/closing number for the HSMTAs at the Orpheum Theater. He enjoyed getting to meet new friends and make so many amazing memories doing what he loves. After high school, Jacob plans on furthering his passion for theater and getting his BFA at a performing arts school. He can’t wait to continue to grow in his skills and hopefully succeed in theater one day. He’s looking forward to getting to meet everyone and making ThesCon 2020 the best it’s ever been.
Zakyra McKinney is a senior at Brentwood High School. Zakyra started theatre in 4th grade and has done dozens of shows since then at school and community theaters. She loves this community and hopes she can help a love for theatre flourish in high schools around the state by putting together an amazing ThesCon with her talented group of peers.
